Lynn Wilson’s Story
Lynn has spent over three decades in leadership roles at top-tier forest products and manufacturing companies, with experience across the U.S., Canada and New Zealand. Lynn is a forward-thinking leader who understands and emphasizes the critical role that high-performance teams play in creating long-term financial and operational success. Lynn has a track record of collaborating with colleagues, senior leadership, community leaders, suppliers, customers and the Board of Directors.
She began her career at Scott Paper and was promoted from operational field forester to Vice President over 24 years and three ownership changes (Scott Paper; Sappi; Plum Creek).
In 2010, Lynn joined Rayonier as Vice President, Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President of Forest Resources. She led all forestry activity and non-timber income generation on more than 2.4 million acres of timberland in the United States and New Zealand. Lynn managed a $400 million P/L and a team of 230 foresters and professionals. Lynn’s expertise on the Executive Team was crucial in shaping the company’s strategic imperatives around financial results, safety, talent management, and large timberland acquisitions.
In 2015, Wilson joined Louisiana Pacific as the Director, Natural Resources managing LP’s forestry and log procurement activities in North America which included the purchase of more than 11 million tons of wood annually sourcing the company’s 21 mills in the U.S. and Canada. She led LP’s public policy and sustainable forestry efforts in conjunction with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®).
She was promoted to Vice President and led LP’s Supply Chain transformation, managing $1.2 billion spend, delivering significant cost savings, and driving a higher level of team performance. Lynn managed all chemical and raw materials procurement, logistics, transportation, and supply chain planning across North America. Lynn retired in 2019, and established her consulting company, WinterTide LLC. She advises forest products and manufacturing companies on operational excellence, strategic planning, procurement, supply chain, and logistics challenges.
